Hon. Mark Ciarrocca was appointed as a New Jersey Superior Court Judge in August 2011 initially being assigned to the Family Division. He sat as presiding judge of the Civil Division in Union County for 8 years. Judge Ciarrocca was graduated from the Virginia Military Institute with a B.A. in English and Washington & Lee University School of Law in Lexington, VA. Following law school, Judge Ciarrocca clerked for Hon. Peter Ciolino, Assignment Judge, Superior Court of New Jersey, Bergen County. After a period on active duty in the US Army, Judge Ciarrocca served for eight years in the United States Army Reserves. From 1988 to 2011, the judge was the principal of the law firm of Ciarrocca & Ciarrocca in Union, NJ. Judge Ciarrocca was elected to the Westfield Town Council in 2003 and has served as the Acting Mayor. He was a member of the New Jersey Supreme Court Civil Practice Committee and previously served as Vice Chair of the New Jersey Supreme Court Model Civil Jury Charge Committee.
